How we measure time saved
The hours shown on this site are benchmarks, not measurements. Here is where they come from, what they do not say, and how we intend to replace them with measured data.
What we can say today
- The benchmarks "4 to 6 hours of writing" and "up to 5 hours recovered per inspection" come from interviews with Quebec building inspectors, conducted informally before launch. We do not publish their number or dates until they are documented: these are benchmarks, not measurements.
- What we asked them: the time they reported, after a typical residential inspection, to sort photos, transcribe notes, write, format, proofread, prepare the invoice and the follow-up.
- What we did not do: measure that time in DomiSpect, in production, with paying customers. DomiSpect is launching; the pilot is closed.
- "Up to" means the highest figure reported, not an average. An inspector who already writes in 2 hours will not recover 5 hours.
What these benchmarks do not say
- Nothing about the "after" time: we do not show any writing time with DomiSpect until it has been measured.
- Nothing about commercial work: the interviews covered residential inspections.
- Nothing about your case: the building type, the number of observations, how much you customize the report and your current method change everything.
How we will measure
We will publish measured data here, as soon as it exists, following the protocol below. As long as a field is empty, it stays empty.
